Who operates this site

The Lawn Counsel is a trade name (a d/b/a) of Schellinger Consulting, based in Porter, Texas. This legal page is where the operating entity is identified; everywhere else on this site, the business speaks under its brand name alone.

Terms of Service

Everything The Lawn Counsel publishes is advice and education for home lawn and garden care, written for the communities named in each edition. Conditions vary — soil, weather, water, shade, and how the work is carried out all affect results — and we do not guarantee any particular outcome.

The product label always controls. When you use any lawn or garden product, the manufacturer's label is the law and controls over anything we publish. Follow all label directions, safety precautions, local ordinances, and your COA's rules.

To the extent permitted by law, The Lawn Counsel and Schellinger Consulting are not liable for damage to lawns, plants, property, or persons arising from the use of our publications.

Prices are in U.S. dollars and are paid through Stripe; delivery is described in the Refund & Delivery Policy below. A purchase is licensed to one household for its own use — please don't redistribute an edition; each copy sold keeps the next community's edition possible.

We may update these terms from time to time; the version in effect when you buy governs that purchase.

Privacy Policy

When you buy, we receive your name and email address through Stripe so we can deliver your purchase. We never see or store your card number — Stripe processes payments. When you join the email list or send us a message (contact, neighborhood request, or a service intake), we receive the information you type into that form.

We use that information to deliver what you bought, answer you, and send the letters you signed up for. That is all it is used for.

We do not sell or rent your information. The services that run the business — Stripe for payments, our email provider — process it only to provide those services.

You can unsubscribe from list emails at any time. For a copy of your information, or to have it deleted, write to [email protected].

Refund & Delivery Policy

Delivery. Digital editions are delivered by email to the address given at checkout — usually within a few hours, and always within two business days. If your delivery email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, then write to [email protected] and we will resend it.

Defective files. If a file is corrupted or won't open, we will replace it — or refund the purchase in full, your choice.

Changed your mind. If a digital edition isn't for you, write to us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

Flowers & Garden Beds ($295). Full refund at any time before we begin your plan — we confirm by email when work starts. If anything about a delivered plan disappoints you, write to us and we will make it right.

Printed items. Anything printed that arrives damaged is replaced or refunded, your choice.
